The City of Starke has declared a Local State of Emergency effective at 5 PM on Tuesday, September 27th in preparation for the storm. This State of Emergency will last until 4:59 PM on October 4th. In addition, City Hall closed at 12 PM on Wednesday, September 28th and reopen on Monday, October 3rd.

The City and the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office-Emergency Management Division are continuing to actively monitor post information involving the storm, and we encourage our residents to follow both pages on Facebook for the most up-to-date information involving our area.

Shelters: Starke Elementary opened at 8 AM on September 28th as Bradford County’s lone shelter. The shelter is pet-friendly and is suitable for those with special needs.

Utilities & Public Works: The City’s utilities and public works departments will be working during safe conditions throughout the storm to maintain and restore services to our residents. For outages after 12 PM on Wednesday and until Monday morning at 8 AM, please be sure to contact the storm hotline at 904-966-6300.

Police & Fire Rescue: Both the Starke Police Department and Starke Fire Rescue will be fully operational during safe conditions throughout the storm to respond to incidents as necessary.
